Sponsored by: Brian Strand
*WINNER* Placed 8th

Listen to poem:
Bejeweled Like moonlight in a rain drop Glittering Like a golden Christmas garland Breathless Like the first strike of Cupid's arrow Faultless Polished pedestrian perfection Dancefloor Diligence delivers determined duos Paused. Stunned. Silence. No-one breathes.. Acclaim! Applause like a stampede of wild palms Rapture Of recognition requiring a hopeful return Critique Clamouring critical comments Ascension The holy grail of stairway stardom Adulation Anticipation of achievement assessment Awaits.. The scores are in.

I appreciate the structure of this poem...it effectively frame your words and your message. I liked so many of the lines but this one in particular,"Applause like a stampede of wild plums' You have some outstanding images as well. Nicely done, Sara

This is so beautifully written Sam and shines like all those sequins! Flows beautifully like a waltz! That line,’ Like moonlight in a raindrop’ is so visually stunning! You have captured the essence of the ballroom competition so well and it’s my darling mum’s favourite programme! Loved the creativity of it. It’s a 10 from me :):)

Christine, I shall think of your mum when I sit down next week! Thank you for the appreciation of my humble poetic effort - it is such a successful formula why mess? That ten maybe too high too soon though, I am not sure Craig would approve (*re-checks formatting*) ;)

- "Like moonlight in a rain drop" ... sounds romantic ... and "Stunned silence no one breathes" took my breath away ... lovely written, Sam :) -

Oh this is beautiful! The way you’ve articulated the lines, i really am inspired to try writing like this! So good! I love the lines “ clamoring critical comments” ah the alliterations and depth of that line! Truly is profound. You took us readers thinking and swirling along to slow dancing waiting for the scores to come in. Stardom, highlights of reality really so well delivered, in a creative manner! Another new and original write, loved this

There was one particular moment on a previous BBC's Strictly that blew me away.. I in no way capture it, but it's beauty and sheer power haunts me still. Thank you Ink x
