Silenced

I saw. Man coming from his home, away. Chief came, saw and slaughtered: owner of the town. The way I saw, the way I tell. No delay. "Who slayed man" -Town. I stood. Chief held me down. Oh! My big head has gone mad again, Leaving justifiable fears in my pulse. Chief said, “just be silent in pain to gain, And enjoy fully the big changed course” I thought. ‘I come out to spill the truth, Broken silences will come in to stay. But Chief will remove each of my tooth And forever I won't be able to say.’ ‘Oh! If I come to cover up for Chief, Rich noises will break and batter hearts. Multiple mourns, pains, and cries will stem. Rest, guiltless conscience and truth departs.’ Rising affluence, opulence. Abundance, Dinner with kings, queens, and heirs, Only if to Chief's tune, I bend over and dance. With gratifying grants taking away tears. The spirit is unwilling but the flesh is weak. Of lips captured in money soaked in honey. How then do you think the truth will leak? Nothing lasts. But money Silenced me. And truth in agony. Copyright: TEMIDAYO O. JACOB
