Silence
Silence is the moment you give up on saving a child.
You hear the beatings, but you pretend not to.
You see the bruises and the broken bones,
but you say nothing, you can't get involved.
You know deep down what is taking place,
so you ignore the signs and the proof.
You go about your day thinking you
should of said something. But you don't
The days go by and it gets worse
You pretend that you really didn't
see or hear anything.
So the child enduring the horrific pain
goes on hoping to be rescued, but you
keep telling yourself that maybe he or she
must of been bad.
That child you said nothing about is and has
been brutally beaten, he or she now lays
lifeless in a cold broken home where
they are abused by someone who is
to care and love them.
You see the police cars and the coroner
and then deep down you know what was
going on.
The child is now laying on a stretcher being
carried away, but days earlier he or she was alive.
You blame yourself because if you would
of stepped up and call someone
maybe that child would still be alive.
So keeping your mouth closed when you
see a child being abused
is not helping them
you can't save them by being quiet
So
"SPEAK UP AND SPEAK LOUD"
You maybe the the one that he or she
is praying to to rescue them.
Abuse goes on everywhere, please
Don't be silent Please Speak up and rescue
a child who needs you.
