Silence
The words of an enemy not give so much pain
As the silence of someone special has slain.
Nothing grows in noise, I know,
Nor God is found in much ado.
In silence only, a truly human soul is touched,
And in restlessness, only frustration is clutched.
Silence in itself is a great art of eloquence
That speaks of a wise man’s intelligence.
Most oft pensive thoughts surround the soul
That looks for a few loving words
To heel the wounds of all nerds
Rather than a thousand people’s applause.
The thought that silence speaks consent
Pats a foolish heart to a great extent.
Precious treasures are kept in safe, silently sealed,
Become worthless, losing their value if so revealed.
