Silence
i wish i could hear
what he has to say to me,
the frustration of life
always gets in the way.
my thoughts, my secret
and silent prayers,
spin through my head
distracting me.
i lean in closer, listening now.
he says, "my darling, my daughter,
my sweet, my love,
you are my child,
and i love you so much."
