Silence

It was neither empty nor hollow
Why was it named thus I never knew

Enchanting midnights
Hopeful dreams
Unspoken solace
Hushed screams
Haunting fears
Lost places
Unremoved scars
Undefeated battles
Nostalgic innocence
Regained spirit
Undying faith
Lonely victories
Joyous defeats
Whispered lullabies
Cocooned love

Saw everything
Remained with everyone
Who named it silence?

There is darkness and beauty in the many shades of silence you've so thoughtfully and emotionally expressed, Aditi. A potent yet delicate piece of pensive depth. Congratulations on your excellent win in John's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

"Listen to silence. It has so much to say" - Rumi. You have gone very deep with this one, Aditi. So many poignant and thoughtful examples of silence, both pleasant and terrifying. Excellent writing, my friend. I look forward to reading more ~ John
