Sign of the Times
She read that thieves had robbed her local bank.
"Is that not a pity?" and her heart sank.
"Go and get me cardboard and a black pen!"
"Never again,"she cried."No, not again."
"Old things must go - we will demand new ways!"
"From our protests will emerge better days!"
Then the others heard her cries of anguish -
"Hold on!", they then cried."We will not languish."
Each made a placard demanding new rules
To prevent banks from being run by fools!!
Instead of the thieves, who were clearly wrong,
Malfeasance was placed on the bank all along!
Even the mayor watched and scratched his head -
"Sign of the times, I guess", was all he said.
