Sights and Sounds of Christmas
Twas the season of the holly and frolicking
Merriment and glee with tiny faces believing
Lights that glowed with glitter and gold on top a tree
A starlit angel with wings singing Christmas glee
Package wrapping with toys and gifts inside
Sights of wonder and bells ringing bringing joy
Cats hitting bulbs with their paws while playing
untwisting tangled lights out of last years box
Creating Christmas smells floating through the air
with turkeys cooking and hot fresh butter bread
hanging mistletoe while waiting under it for a kiss
Sounds of music ringing in the ears while singing
Gathered together as sardines hugging and kissing
A table filled with thoughts of love filling tummy's
Children running and plying with empty boxes scatted
The women in the kitchen the men watching football
Grandpa snoring in his easy chair without a care
with a Snowmen built looking through the window
Children laughing mothers dancing bringing cheer
Shopping carts filled and internet buying with a click
All to be forgotten until,
Next Year
The circle of Christmas Cheer
Bringing in the New Year
