Shoulda Read the Fine Print

Shoulda read the fine print - 8 Feb 2018

Binary code can only be understood
by those who look closely under the hood

The fine print of human DNA
the crux of reproduction per se

The fine print so small and very well hidden
the knowledge of such, to many, forbidden

Evolving from ‘God’ only knows what
to intellectual beings, self-taught!

Upgrading the human fine print in time
for that one day when the stars do align

And then when we take to planets anew
to breed DNA without further ado

These poor ET creatures will begin to think
“Shoulda read the fine print, *now we’re extinct!”

Cute and clever! What fun! A high-brow howl, if you will...And---not to worry, we're a long way from getting to other planets and imposing our DNA/human way there...:) Gershon

You are clever in a witty sort of way, Laura:) An enjoyable poem, to say the least. 01001100 01000001 01110101 01110010 01000001 (can you work out this binary code?:) Warm regards // paul

I very much like your take on the theme. And I never before thought of DNA as a binary code, while that is so obvious. Thank you, Kai

I like this. Relates well to where I am in my understanding right now. Love the connection in stanza one of binary code and buying a car (looking under the hood). Problem with me is: I don't ken what's under the hood nor do I know anything about binary. I also like the dig in the fourth stanza too on "evolution" and self-taught. Check your Soup Mail.
