Shortcuts

Today I'm starting over again With yet another chance. To broaden my horizons Although my years advanced My competition undefeated Always likes to race That ageless legendary man With numbers on his face I passed this way, before today Traveling with him, my friend But stopped to take a break, per say Without informing him Rerouting several hundred times With shortcuts he's in sight Determined this time to pass him by Or least ways reunite With a lot of focus and some hocus pocus I will get there first Unless, instead, I drop dead And have to catch a hearse The problem is we can't agree Who decides the winner But two things are certain He ain't hurtin' And cheaters are always the worst written at age 60 during freshman orientation at college an original poem by the "poemdog" Daniel Turner

Daniel, all I know after 70 years is that "you can't outrun the future".....

I know, it was all in fun. I like to make people smile when I can. Life is stressful enough already. Thank you so much for stopping by and spending your valuable time reading and commenting. Peace, my friend:)

It really started speeding up for me after open heart surgery in 2007. I am 61, 62 In August. Thank you for the compliment on my verse and for taking the time to read.

I must agree too, Danny. Cheaters are the worst. Age is no deterrent for winning any race. Odds are that if you're determined, you can win. In a horse race, the horses can't read the tote board, so they don't know if they are favored or not ;)

I'm no race horse, more like a stubborn jackass. Thanks for your precious time. How sweet the peach that basks in the sun!
