Shooting Star
The four lane road spreads out in front of the car
As the silver moon dances close to the northern star
Six shades of darkness are painted across the sky
Difficult to admit something that has always been a lie
In the space between heaven and earth
We tend to decide what we are worth
Never realizing that others see us as we truly are
Leaving us confused as we find it a little bizarre
To think that we may have some value is rough
When we have always thought ourselves to be bitter and tough
Finding one’s own way amidst the rocks and trees
Can change your opinion of yourself slowly by degrees
Till an admission can be made to all that have been had
That I am better that I was and I have no reason to be sad
A shooting star crosses the sky in front of the car, burning bright
Reminding me that even though I made a lot of bad decisions, the last one I
made was right
