Shooting Star
From far across the dark of space
You start your long celestial race
I think about the sights you’ll see
As you travel across the galaxy
Past constellations deep and bright
You float amidst the clear starlight
Drifting along the Milky Way
Watching the shining moonbeams play
Traveling beyond the distant stars
Past Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars
While I am here and sound asleep
You’re moving on through space so deep
Until you reach the planet earth
Far from the realm that gave you birth
Your trip will soon be ending here
As you fall into the atmosphere
A streak of light across night sky
You burn so bright then quickly die
How is it that you've come so far
Oh brightly shining shooting star?
