Shoes

i will weaken and restrict your pace
push your spine until it snaps
i will cradle you and soften your skin
until its useless, blisters and cracks
from the moment you stand i'l become your ground
steal your body from the world below
mold the way you hold yourself
become a statement, make you grow
i'l confuse the young and anger the old
i will trudge and stain and tear
break away 'till i'm no use
but, still, you'l buy another to wear.
