Shocked Heart

I forgot that the heart beats.
I've been robotic.
Thought is unneeded.
Emotions are useless.
But a sudden shock to the system,
Reminds me...
My heart beats.
It was easy,
I've been busy,
Then the news came,
I am alive again.
Apart of me wishes I wasn't.
Knowing that someone I loved passed,
I wish,
I stayed robotic.
That news made me feel again.
I've become aware of my heart.
My system is shocked.

It sounds like a fresh wound, and even if it is not, it is still there, lingering, waiting to take you by surprise. I am sorry about that; it never comes at an opportune time. Changing the world as you know it.

Funny how we rock along routinely, and all at once - SHOCK!
