Written for the Craigs contest on the melody " Diana Yukawa (???? ??) Performed at Shizumanu Taiyo Film Premiere" I did a bit of background reading on the plane crash, and Diana Yukawa, and her father's tragic demise, and what hit me the most was how the mother was pregnant when her father died in the planecrash before the violinist was born, and her mother was pregnant with her: her mother was not legally married to her father and she had to fight for the government to allow her to use his name for her children: and finally was able to use: and their story really made me feel so much. Hope you will like my lyrics

Look upon the mourning stars feel the grieving lake flow in silence to unseen memories, like a ghost of a rose, lost in the cold breeze. Take me where I can feel the warmth within your arms~ resting in love, like a ghost of a rose. Beyond the eyes of skies that my heart can reach, I feel the angels’ wing, shielding over me. Maybe the sun, the rays, can collide in tune, as Mama still dreams of your last embrace. Your name, my lullaby, and tonight I sing hallelujah. Let my thoughts stretch through the bed of clouds, where your song lingers through my tears. I’ll write to the moon, listening to the wind whisper~ “gaze upon sailing cosmos of dandelion wishes” stirring heatwaves of heartaches, while the sunrise dews fall upon paper airplanes, to bring you back home, from the heavens above seven seas, laced with pearls. Look upon the mourning stars feel the grieving lake flow in silence to unseen memories, like a ghost of a rose, lost in the cold breeze. Take me there where I can feel your love.

Inky, beautifully composed - a relaxed pen flowed with some perceptive images here - especially one noted "the paper plane"... a special metaphor!

Dear Empress, soulful poetess, your exquisite verse is ethereal yet real in rich imageries of emotion and metaphors "mourning stars" and "feel the grieving lake flow". A poignant expression of grief, love, remembrance and longing. I was especially moved by your repetition of "ghost of a rose" and this beautifully aching stanza "Let my thoughts stretch/through the bed of clouds,/where your song/lingers through my tears." Heart clutching verse. Such inspired and inspiring poetic artistry. Tender, haunting and impactful. Your golden pen is brilliant! Warmest wishes my sweet friend.. ~Susan

A man that is going to father children needs to be willing to put his name on the birth certificate, if not, he should not father them. Sad he got killed but he should have done it before he got her pregnant to start with. Thanks for sharing this information with us. Interesting work. Sara K

Without focusing on the story behind the poem.. Your lyric is a hauntingly beautiful exploration of grief, remembrance, and the eternal bond of love that transcends the boundaries of time and space. The imagery of mourning stars and grieving lakes evokes a sense of profound sadness and longing, while the metaphor of the ghost of a rose lost in the cold breeze speaks to the fragility of life and the ephemeral nature of memory.

poignant reflections on the passage of time, dreams of last embraces, and lullabies of cherished names encapsulate the tender moments of remembrance and longing that linger in the heart's deepest recesses. Best of luck in the contest dear..

Well, this is quite a story. I looked into it a bit. It was the worst single air crash ever that occurred after Boeing technicians improperly repaired the tail of the airplane. What is remarkable to me is how the mistake made reverberated into so many lives. And much worse, the lessons learned about safety continually get forgotten and need to be relearned.

Oh my, dear Ink, you've absolutely nailed this and I can truly say that you've captured the essence of sorrow and heartache here, so magnificently. This is a piece of poetic grandeur.. Sometimes, we get that feeling about a poem, that this excels all skills, beyond fathomable, I get that wondrous vibe from this poem/song. Although, I wasn't aware of the story about Diana Yukawa, but you made that sense of ache come alive in your delicate words.. "Look upon the mourning stars", "ghost of a rose"

Gosh, extremely heartfelt and profound, my dear fairy goddess!! "Your name, my lullaby, and tonight I sing hallelujah" That part made me cry.. Seriously. "fall upon paper airplanes" That's so creative, ingenious and artistic of you! "Take me there where I can feel your love" That ending line was absolutely soul-hitting.. A FAV from you, truly! Best wishes for the contest!

Your opening stanza sets the scene for your theme:--like a ghost of a rose, lost in the cold breeze--and you capture the grief invoking hope:-- I’ll write to the moon, listening to the wind whisper~ “gaze upon sailing cosmos"--Take me there where I can feel your love. Awesome write, awesome ending, Ink.

Sometimes you just take things to another level, as you did here in this mournful poem. And you really kill things with your final stanza, which seems to be a regular thing for you. I know the one you did for my contest blew me away

First I must apologize if I missed some poem of yours. I do not read or post during the weekend and I don't mind if you Soup Mail me for my error. However, I see no icon for Soup Mail. Thank you for reading my rather old poem. I had almost given up on this effort. Hiya missed some too. A tragedy is always sorrowful, though your poem seems to end in Love even in after life. Great imagery, metaphors and emotions all along.

ooo, such a sad story but with a wonderful outcome. I wasn't familiar with Diana Yukawa and her father's tragic demise. You've done their story justice with a poignant and memorable Lyric. Your versatility as a poet is truly inspiring & amazing! Your imagery was soft and touching capturing the spirit of enduring love. When I read the last stanza, I became more than teary-eyed...touched a host of emotions. I think that often of the people who've gone...'take me where I can feel your love.' Faving
