Shipwrecked

                            Crashing waves breaking over me -
                            surging, tidal tears that capsize.
                            Drowning love, sinking in black sea,
                            fragmented heart cuts deepest ties.

                            Stormy, onyx skies - darken sea
                            crashing waves breaking over me.
                            Ship with no captain at the helm,
                            Alone am I - gone from my realm.

                           Floundering and lost out to sea,
                           Oh, Lodestar! Where are you to guide?
                           Crashing waves breaking over me.
                           Driftwood - broken dreams at my side.

                           Shipwrecked, adrift, my heart and I -                            
                           Castaway now so shall I be.
                           Dwell beneath ocean’s torrid sky -              
                           Crashing waves breaking over me.

The terminology utilized in this poem is perfect. I especially love the 'Lodestar' reference. It's very creative, intellectual, and beautiful. This is definitely one of most favorite poems! The Situation October 10, 2023 at 3:33 PM sounds like someone use to the sea. I've never been. But this give me reason Not to go. Haha. It awakens fears.
