Shingles doesn't care

There's a tv commercial with a metaphor,
that some of us may have heard before,
"shingles doesn't care".
If one rolls the virus dice rsv and covid
aren't very nice but "shingles doesn't care."
Competitive bugs that are honing in on you,
like pneumococcal pneumonia too, but
"shingles doesn't care."
In between any tv show that's on the air
these pharmaceutical commercials loudly blare,
our brains on auto pilot, we blankly stare,
cause "shingles doesn't care." Do you?

Kim Rodrigues January 22, 2024 at 5:43 PM I don’t watch most commercials. LOL Kim Rodrigues January 23, 2024 at 5:56 PM I had shingles in my 20’s. Right after all my kids one by one got chicken pox. Interestingly comes from same germ. I was still sore in the chest when I had to shoot a gun with a marine by my side. Well it hurt. He says tuck it in tighter and when I shot I fell into tears. He still passed me. More stories too… life is a poem, isn’t it?! I may be redundant with my simplistic style but do enjoy the versatility of different subject matter and also try to embrace my sense of humor about life as well as many pressing social issues.

I have also heard that it is very, very painful as well. I guess I'm guilty of watching the tube too much on these cold winter days. Thanks for commenting Anne-Lise.
