Shiloh ...

Her leash and frisbee
Sit high on a shelf, waiting
But no one is coming...
The park down on the corner
Looks abandoned and lonely

    Yet, there is a place
    Where the sweetest golden girl
    (Shiloh was her name)
    Tail wagging,...... happily plays
    Unleashed....while chasing rainbows!

Oh, Carrie, this poem brought tears to my eyes. Although it's always sad to lose our pets, we have so many memories that fill the rest of our lives. Simply beautiful! Good luck in the contest! Love, Carolyn

Hi Carrie!... your poem broke me up.... and helped me remember the last days with my dear Golden... Babe Ruth... your question about my dialect, do I still hear it? heck yea! I use it! mostly as a term of endearment when I'm talking to my regular catering clients...expresses a familial touch... like.... they will thank me for helping them order the right mix and amount of food, I'll say "you betcha!"
