10/21/2024 for Shikata ga nai Poetry Contest 

Shikata ga nai

You say you're leaving me now?
This cannot be!  Why? How?
I cannot say goodbye.

Tell me what you want from me.
I'll be what you want me to be.  
Give me one more try.  

Still, you walk out of the door?
For time to grieve, I implore.
I need time to cry.  

Now, I have things to do.
It was so nice knowing you.
Shikata na gai.
