Shifting Seasons
Seasons now are shifting,
Life is slowing down.
As nature drops her summer garb,
And dons her autumn gown.
The woods now feel autumn's touch,
She falls upon the trees.
Bringing hues of red and gold,
Amongst tapestries of leaves.
With autumn's gusts leaves will fall
All will be bare and stark.
Soon frosty morns will greet us,
As winter leaves her mark.
Oh, she has such beauty too
How we love her so.
Who is there does not delight,
In watching falling snow.
How beautiful are icicles,
Frozen cobwebs on a hedge.
Pavements glittering with frost,
Snow upon a window ledge.
So little creatures line their nests
And squirrels tend their dreys,
As nature now prepares herself,
For coming winter days.
