Shes Like the Ocean

She was like the ocean crashing against the shore.

And of course, I was like the shore.

I knew eventually, she was going to pull away from me.

And there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop it.

It was inevitable, like the tide.

As hard as I tried, I could not hold the ocean in my hands.

And just as you’d reach my sand..

You would slip away back into the moonlight.

Staying close enough for me to love you,

But far enough so that I could never have you completely.
