She's a Friend---Not
In your process of mourning,
the deliberate loss of a friend
You must think of the past, from beginning to end
You need to sift through the why's and what for's
To answer your questions
to close open doors
To discover and realize, some things that you thought
but never said 'No'
to this friend, that is not
Let the moments of evil flood into your mind
Remember, see the pattern
that's emerging, to find
Each on their own, unimportant in thought
but put them together, the betrayal is caught
Dig deep inside cause somewhere you knew
Right in your face all along, it was you
Your threatening charm, seeing only the good
The girl next door, the guys understood
Why didn't you see?
What took you so long?
You wanted to believe!
Your denial so strong!
Your desire to keep, this group as a whole
Drove you to sacrifice who you are, in your soul
In hind sight your instincts, you felt from the start
You didn't listen, instead
followed your heart
To accept with blind faith, the bad with the good
an oath to yourself, your loyalty stood
A friend you loved so, you gave over an inch
but more than a mile, she took
What a cinch!
You made it too easy
bowing down, being kind
"You taught her how to treat you." To yourself, in your mind
Now you are wiser and onto these tricks
you've learned to take notice
and never take licks
Strong in mind, to let hypocrisy in
Too kind to lash out, make her pay for her sin
So "Cut the cord" and "sever the ties"
You'll live without her and all of the lies
though she won't see, the lesson to learn
Karma is real
and you know, it's her turn
