Shelly and Her First Date

Shelly is all decked out for her first date. Fifteen and nervous, pretty but shy. The boy’s parents pick her up. He is in the front seat with her dad. She climbs in to the back with his mother. Now Sammy has asthma, his mother says! Sammy! She calls Sam “Sammy?” Wow! Here is his inhaler. Do you have a purse? She does. “Don’t let him dance too much.” Sammy groans from the front seat. “Can’t he take it?” she asks his mother. “He’s not responsible,” His mother replies, handing it to her. Before they go inside to the dance Dad takes photos of the three of them. Mom insists on being in every photo. Shelly takes out the inhaler and waves it in one of them, for fun.

chuckle! I have a feeling that was her last date with "Sammy," whose mother is his own worst enemy!

I hate to admit I married Sammy to help him escape her.
