Sheep Less Nights

I open my eyes and to my surprise I
was awake.
All I could see was tall dolls and
people with shaws.
running down halls.
I pinched myself to try to wake up
Why can't I wake up for heaven sake.
I was trapped in a dream like state.
I walked down stairs that was made
of chairs.
I jumped up out my sleep
and no one heard me not even a
peek
Where I should have been counting
sheep

Thankyou for looking at my light poetry. Yes, I can see the images produced. Very much like a children's story. I'm still new to all of this. I usually just tell my tales at home, but Carol wanted me to share them. Michael

Love the title to your poem, April. It's double meaning is perfect...along with your poem, too. The imagery with the chair steps really jumped out at me. I also have a sleepless night poem called 'I Dream of Sleep'.
