The news of the day bears no joy for me, hence the verse hoping that we can get our act together to save this planet for our grandkids and their kids that follow

She Won’t be Right, Mate

The world is a mess and getting worse
With so much conflict, wars and carnage
Environmental damage that can’t be un-done
We push Mother Nature to her limits
…
The climate is changing, the cause Global Warming
Expect endless waves of catastrophic weather systems
Massive destruction of communities around the planet
Caused by the use of fossil fuels releasing so much carbon
…
We rape and pillage the environment for little gain
By mining the land, clearing forests, polluting our oceans
Far too many humans and less productive land
The downward spiral with the earth stressed to its limits
…
Some people’s ideology gives rise to disruption and death
Mass murder and mayhem in many countries
Other people through-out the planet have no rights
The down-trodden, the poor, religious minorities, third world countries
…
The world has changed since the days of hunter gatherers
Billions of people are reliant on their local super markets
Millions have no land to grow crops and keep livestock
So much precious fresh water used to feed the masses
Food grown with pesticides and chemicals and no over-site
Shipped around the world under free trade agreements
Possibly spreading disease and viruses to other nations
With the sanction of governments, multi-nationals and the dollar
…
Oceans acidic with fish stocks heavily depleted
The environment stressed and broken is at its limits
Ice melt at both poles, climate change accelerating
The world and its people need to make a stand
…
Our mother of this earth can only take so much
With our grandkids carrying the can for our indulgence
Let us try to make this world a better place for the people, the flora and fauna
She (the mother of this earth) would hope that we make it right, Mate
