She is the River

She is the river running through my life.
She parts the darkened landscape,
and reflects the starry night.
She carries sunlight in her currents.
Laughter splashes on her face.
Love strives strongly in her depths,
I rejoice every morning to see her brightness.
At sunset, she bears calmness in her heart.
And though she long ago flowed past me,
I know we'll never part.
