She Is the One
Intrigued, yet infinitely cautious
was she The One?
I had been hurt before
thinking with my heart
loving with my head
It seemed I'd been down this road before
love's bright hope being held out like a prize at the fair-
"Step right up! Guaranteed winners!
buy your ticket and throw the ball,
nobody goes home without a prize!"
Then the voice of an angel set off all my alarms
waking me from that deep sleep of self-protection
a moment of clarity
One brick at a time
my walls came down
a robust bridge was erected
which led me to a garden called
"She is The One"
