She Comes to Me Like the Storm

She comes to me like the storm Quiet and full of nature’s possibility Air hangs heavy with expectation Her eyes filled with lightning We press together, whispers dancing on skin Breathing in unison, as if we are one Touching her skin my arms furniture around her Our gentle rumbling of distant thunder The noise disappears as our simple melody begins Wind blowing softly through the reeds A caress of lips held with a silent prayer Fingertips on skin so soft, they feel without touching A blinding flash and the clouds break open Falling from our minds sky, drenching us Undeniable, inescapable soaking us to our bones Exhausted, laying there, us as one
