Shameful Sinner of a Saint
Here I stand Lord, with not much to give..
A shameful sinner, a heart that's pensive.
Lord, here I am down on my knees..
An iniquitous soul to appease.
Lord, here dies my reprehensible heart.
I didn't deserve you from the start.
The Lord appeared and took my hand!
"Child, I love you don't you understand?"
I bowed down my weary head..
Tears fell as I heard what he said.
The Lord gathered me in his loving embrace.
At that moment, I felt very safe.
"My child, I died on the cross for all mankind.."
I, found this inconceivable in my mind.
He showed me His nailed peiced hands and feet.
I knelt down, feeling every aching heartbeat.
The Lord knelt down next to me!
"I love you child, now don't you see?"
With His gentle radiant smile it was then I knew..
That His death on the cross was for me and for you.
I now percieve that He died for our every sin.
That through Him, we are forgiven.
