the weak, they fall in silence on the way
they're wounded by the words that people say
the strong, they keep on marching night and day
and for the fallen, they don't stop to pray
the Darwin theory plays in social life
survival of the fittest in the strife
The strong, they maim and then run off in glee
A branch struck down from their familial tree
Community, a fable, sweet to share
but fable nonetheless, so few can care
If one is, hurt the body, it must bleed*
But it goes on, dismembered by the deed
There is no honor in demeaning talk
The walk of shame, the path they will not walk
Eileen Manassian
I come from a shame and honor society....a person's good name is more important to him/her than fortune or fame. So few know the meaning of true honor....The Bible comes from this region of the world...
Proverbs 12: 1 & 2-
A good name is more desirable than great riches;
to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
New International Version (NIV)
Matthew 12: 36- But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
Empty words...Jesus says that if you call your brother stupid....you are in danger of hell fire....Something to think about....
Matthew 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
*In I Corinthians 12, Paul uses the analogy of the body to depict the community spirit that believers should have:
22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor......that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
