Shadows Over the City

Rows of houses,
  apartment buildings where 
the myriad peoples of 
          the city exist
           let the night envelop
    those dwellings
         Eyes which have seen
    the city's hustle and bustle 
         now begin to droop
   City lights outside the 
             windows
        inside the city dwellers 
     prepare for sleep
              How many dreams?
              How many hopes
          in this metropolis ?
Let your spirit 
        meld with the 
   urban scene
be as one 
          with the multitude 
Even while you wait 
     in your space for 
morning
       The city's energy
           flows in your veins
Off to an urban dreamland!
Let your spirit 
       meld with the
  urban scene
All around you
      you can find 
    sympathetic spirits 
              only those 
            who feel the 
        city's heartbeat
       will understand
           it's subtle joys
