Shadows of the Sun
I sit in the shadows of the Sun
Wondering if I'm the only one
In this dark and dreary place.
When I look into a puddle, it's my own face
Staring back at me.
My dialated eyes can hardly see
Through the choking fog
That's hidden me from you;
That's hidden everyone I knew.
Thinking that I'm the only one,
I walk the shadows of the Sun
Hoping to find the place
Where I recognize the lonely face
Looking at me from deep inside the puddle.
I strain my ash colored eyes
And try to see past the disguise.
I wander in the shadows of the Sun,
Knowing that I am the only one
Who's lost in the shadows.
Lost in the shadows.
Lost in the shadows of the Sun.
