Shadows of Despair

Thus does the Sun speak to another day
Whispering of truths long unfulfilled
Of warmth and gentle breezes in disguise
Turned by errant shadows into lies

For we will blame the rain upon the clouds
And curse the living for becoming shrouds
Echoing the distant thunderous roar
Of those who claim we could have done much more

And yet we hold one “god” against another
As men defile the twisted name of “brother”
To enflame the twisted fury of the lie
That our greatest gift to ”them” is that we die

Thus, the moon will hum its silent prayer
Its echoes but the shadows of despair
