Notes About The Poem

Inspired by Eyvind Earle's painting Black Spruce.

Shadows

Shadows hide behind the trees
Mimicking their shape.
They sway and bend in perfect time
But never can escape.

Caught for all eternity
The only time they're missed
Is when the sun goes into hiding
Then they don't exist.

Here is another amazing poem, and this one about shadows. Interestingly, the shadows cease to exist when the day comes to a close, just as most of our problems when their day comes to an end.

Very nice Beverly. Truly shadows don’t exist but can follow us everywhere. Good work dear❤️

Thanks Pat for reading and commenting on my poems. This one was inspired by one of Eyvind Earle's prints called Black Spruce which has some very interesting shadows. Beverly

Thank you, Jan. So glad you looked up the painting. It hangs in my living room and I love it.
