Shadow Puppets
Memories
of childhood sleepovers;
silly games,
Mom calling, “Lights out!”
flashlights shinning under covers,
then on walls.
Whispers,
“Can you make this shape?”
Impermanent shadows
cohering friendship,
building pleasant
memories.
