Shadow On the Meadow
I face the wind, the skyline, bright, blood-red,
the darkening dusk, the heaving
halo
of the sun mirrored on the lake
below.
Shimmering shafts of thin, shivering light
streak through the whole length
of my own shadow,
lengthening, stretching across
the meadow.
