Sesquipedalian Self-criticism

Sesquipedalian, sounds like an alien
Syllables trailing from your tongue like a train
Seems like you'd rather leave words in a lather
Forming like foam from the rain in your brain

Eye's water, this slaughter of discourse dissection
Is deserving of mid-course correction at least
If only your colleagues could change the direction
Of this Grand Panjandrum in pedantical feast

Stetson's verse stands as an absolute triumph of hyperpolysyllabicism, purposefully daring the reader to confront their own latent hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. He weaves a beautifully circumlocutionary web that captures the essence of a mind trapped in the lather of its own expansive vocabulary. The rhythmic train of syllables effectively mirrors the overwhelming foam he describes, rolling off the tongue with a delightful, albeit exhausting, cadence. Yet, one must wonder if this slaughter of discourse tips slightly into overintellectualization. By focusing so heavily on mid-course corrections and pedantical feasts, the narrator risks an unfortunate floccinaucinihilipilification of his own genuine emotional core. The self-criticism feels incredibly sharp, but the sheer density of the phrasing threatens to obscure the true, relatable frustration of the over-thinking poet. Ultimately, declaring this work mere ultracrepidarianism would be entirely unfair to the Grand Panjandrum steering this locomotive of language. Stetson successfully employs grandiloquence not as a shield, but as the very subject of his dissection. It remains a wonderfully tongue-in-cheek celebration of syllables that leaves the audience thoroughly entertained, even while gasping for breath and grasping for a dictionary.😂
