Ken Carroll Poet Free verse

Serenity

We are enclosed
in this room
this sanctuary
our imagination
our desires
becomes our existence
everything else
the universe
is missing out...

Late night is here
midnight our beloved
words fade
dreams come alive
destructive analysis 
of our day is done
we lay in the ruins
of our pleasures
we possess
the serenity of trees...

This night
the shadow maker
shapes forever
our shadow bodies
sacred rivers
places of pilgrimage
two temples
dual but one...

Only our eyes speak
we drink the air
with our breathing...

We are still
silent as flowers
for this will begin
the night birds singing...

Suddenly
with her kiss
my body
becomes a candle
touched by fire...
