Serenity
Peace
Comes to you in shapes unassuming
At times when you have a need
Desperately
Desperate yearnings to catch your breath
Peace has its own price
As does everything in the living years
Softly spoken like the gentle touch of a friend
It comes to you with a slow thought
One you cannot help but to desire and embrace
One you wish to savour
So it is that you do
In the beginning you do
Eventually as with all things you ask yourself
Why?
Why has this come to me now?
Why at this time?
Why in this moment?
Why has it taken me so long to find?
So it is that you ask and ask again why?
And so it goes
And so it goes
I have found peace
Or perhaps peace has found me
And though it begs me to question
To ask why
I won’t . . .
No I will not ask myself why
Instead I will do the hardest and greatest thing I know
I will accept this gift
I have
I am at peace . . .
