Serenity
The rain
furies out
in a fight
against the wind.
Anger
in search
of control
and dominance.
It falls
with a purpose
of lashing out
at everyone and no one
all at once.
They walk in this battle
with an essence of calm.
Shielding eyes,
hoods up, and laughing all the same.
The waft of wet
grass, gravel, stone.
The breath of nature
in the polluted air.
A war like this
is no place to walk
without shelter
on their heads.
They walk out into
the heart of the feud.
As it wages on,
they welcome the serenity
this feud provides.
A walk in the rain
is nothing but calm.
Head to toe,
dripping on the ground.
The stress of reality
has disappeared,
if only momentarily.
A walk in the rain
Is a caress
of serenity.
In this battle between elements,
they are at peace.
