September comes along in splendour With a song sung the world to adore A melody, a sweet serenade To the time of year sweet dreams are made. The ninth month brings along cooler days As autumn begins vivid displays Leaves change colour for their final dance Twisting and twirling from off the branch. Days get shorter as nights grow longer In their sophisticated wonder Stars shine brightly as the moonlight glows There's a fragrance of evening primrose. Rouse me up after this September The one I wish not to remember It's the month of my birthday, that's why The years are quickly passing me by. The hair has turned hues of silver grey Wrinkles now showing and here to stay Yet September grace never grows old It has beauty that constantly glows. Each day I pray earthly folk will see The woman I hope and wish to be I'm not alone, have love of my own Seeds of peace I scatter as I roam. September ends with its magic touch Painting sky with its amazing brush. * * *
