Sentinel In the Night
It has been this way since the beginning
That men have done battle with the sea
For wealth, glory, and just for the knowing
But it has always kept its fierce mystery
When the storms come obscuring the land
On the shore stands a sentinel, a bright light
To give direction to ships lost in the deep
And gave hope through the darkest of night
So the sea will beat its fury on the shore
And man will still try to conquer the wave
Giving thanks for sentinels that bravely stands
To give their succor to the sailor so brave
