Sensuality

Oh sensuality, you
Siren of irresistible bodily pleasures
That
Enchant the hearts of humans with promises of
Untold gratification
While
Leaving their souls craving for a caress
Of divinity’s bliss,

Why don’t you,
Cease for a moment, your insatiable
Carnal desires
For
To liberate Man from the chains of
Errant appetites
Thus
Allowing him, the delights of the enlightened spirit,
For once to enjoy?

Many seek the spiritual through the physical and are left wanting. I wonder if it is the spirit or the body that craves physical union. I enjoyed this piece Demetrios.

Well, my friend I think you know the answer. However, with the union of body and spirit there is an inter-independence of the two therefore one should not be indifferent of the needs of the other but we must keep a balance and give to each what it needs at the time it needs it and at the degree it should be! Thank you for visiting and commenting, dear Richard.

Errant appetites...that's what got us in this mess...the original sin. Yes, my dear poet. You have set me right. Thank you! :) I also agree with Dr Trifiatis!~!~!

Yes, it is good to agree with Dr. Upma, for you agree with me when I say "Why don’t you, Cease for a moment, your insatiable Carnal desires.." The priority is the enlightened spirit that certainly , as you say, heightens the sensual mind but the new sensuality is now guided away from its "errant appetites!" Thank you Eileen for visiting and graciously commenting in such a unique way!

Yes, Dr. Upma, it is an endless war between mind and matter and unless we come to a harmonious coexistence of the two, Man will suffer! Thank you so much for your kind visit and comment! I cherish it!
