Self-Faith in this Brave New World.
All I know is how I breathe…. And while I breathe I am alive….
All I have learnt, all I have loved, all my work, all my prayers and dreams
Will all amount to nothing…..? Unless, I have a belief in more than this.
But that hope can’t be blind, handed to me as a spoon of food,
To be accepted by a child from the mother.
Because I am, a free thinking living soul,
Who can’t be told by anyone else what is true.
For I search for truth in everything, I touch, see, smell and feel.
I question, with science, as my guide, the machine to divine,
What is real… and there in that search, what have I found?
I have found, cruelty, blindness of ignorance,
Greed, power games and all the vices of human fragility,
As stumbling blocks stopping me, to find that hint of truth.
Proving, beyond all doubt that a God of everything exists,
A Spirit to hold and guide my path in life, but not as a crutch
to blame for the fault I see in our fragility of our sick society.
Now I look within into the fabric of the golden mean, that
Natural, mathematical, rule that designs our world.
Because I have searched for this, turned every stone,
I have looked long at the trees and the way their branches grow.
I have looked long into shells on the shores,
And there I found the pattern in which we all belong.
The printed parent order of things,
And there my God existed for a while.
But this isn't the all- powerful of generations past
No, it is a fundamental mathematical principle, as
A thumb-print of natural laws governing all living things, here on this world
Gentle and undemanding……. just there as I am……….and as I breathe.
Inspired by life's search for meaning. Why are we here?
