Excellent description of the photo, Carrie. It does appear the oak is "lonely" amid the field and that there is a break in storm clouds allowing light to stream down upon it. Wishing you success in the contest! Love, Carolyn

Carrie, this poem makes me believe that storms pick our their victims, as nature stands by helplessly, unable to protect it's kin. So much, from so little. I enjoyed reading this tonight.
