On the fringe of the morning
the neat rows of wheat fields,
with sweet fragrant grasses,
are caged with barbed wire
reflecting the fire
of a tangerine sun
Fences and grain
still damp from the rain
are home to the masses
of rodents and rabbits
where the sage used to grow
and the wind sweeps the plains...
