Seems Like the Voice of Reason

Seems like the voice of reason
has upped and walked away,
left the Senate, left the House;
Politics have gone astray

Hope reason has not left forever.
Has been gone for some time
The voice that has replaced it
should be arrested. It's a crime.

Truth and reason are not in it
What's the truth? I heard you say.
Don't think you'll often hear it
in the voices heard today.

What is sincerity? I hear.
Just came down another rung.
Somehow it gets quite twisted
as it comes off of the tongue

Search well for sense of  reason, 
and a lot to see the truth,
and God forbid sincerity,
before you're in the voting booth.

The difficulty insurmountable,
Don't think you'll get them all
Vote the ones you think come closest
To slow down this country's fall.
