Notes About The Poem

Seeking Truths in Life

“as both this form and boundless space cravings of ego negated awake,
vibrant yet nonchalant bliss drenched heart remains elated”
                                                                              ~ Unseeking Seeker

Once stripped of hubris and inhibitions,
our stygian streams will glimmer with light,
releasing us from tethered traditions
to gleam like bright stars each nebulous night.

Vibrant becomes the mind with truths in life,
once uncloaked from sorrow's dark mourning shrouds.
We're fulfilled, no vacant voids, stress or strife.
Blissful beneath skies without nimbus clouds.

Unmasked, we're drawn as a somatic sketch,
and mindful of our spiritual needs.
No motley abstract conceived as a wretch,
our hearts will exult as wheat among weeds.

Once unbound, we'll dance with terpsichore, *
as Aurora applauds our liberty.

*Terpsichore is pronounced. Terp sic o ree'
Greek Muse of lyric poetry and dance,
as a noun it means a series of rhythmical steps

I got lost in your rhymes, immersed deeply, within the beams of light that ebb and flow throughout in such a wise and profound manner dear linnersz, how well written! I cant write sonnets, as I have to use my brain for rhymes, however, you , you can nail any form any theme effortlessly! In such ways that leaves readers envious, (some) lol! Well, im proud of your prolific skill! Pleasure reading you today! Best wishes always Sending you light always

You’re officially on my cheerleading squad, Ink! lol Seriously, I am very grateful that you think so highly of my poetry. Your opinion and reviews mean almost as much to me as the value of your friendship. I know you could write a Sonnet. That romantic form is made for your poetic style. Hugs.

An exception sonnet Lin, you definitely tapped into some esoteric egoless space between body and mind, wish I knew its secret :) I think Seeker will recognise this special space, and rate this one highly, I enjoyed the burden removing essence of this piece, cheers David

There’s no place for ego anywhere in this world if one considers how minuscule and unimportant we are. Looking at the overall picture of our short time on Earth should put things in proper perspective but often we get caught up in the mundane. Give me a log cabin and a stream and I’ll be happy. Thanks, David.

We never stop seeking the truths in life, it's an endless journey that we undertake. Often we find some answers, others evade us but we never stop searching. Beautiful sonnet Lin and good luck in the contest.. Tom

Thanks so much, Tom. We'll always have questions, and to some we may never get answers but if we weren't curious, what a sad lot we'd be.

Dear Lin, Well, today my poetess philosopher friend I am hoping to shed layers and discover a deeper truth in every step I take. How beautifully you blend the physical and the spiritual, the human and the heavenlies. I truly believe our pens do draw a sense of freedom and lightness, a dance of the spirit, untethered at last. I think your sonnett is gift of thought and beauty that will do well in the contest! Blessings, Lin, Daniel

Thanks ever so much for your detailed review, Daniel. Often, I find a bit of myself after writing something as profound as this. It's not until we're given the task of thinking about the depth of such things that we pause and, as you said, "draw a sense of freedom and lightness" from what we discover about ourselves. I'm never sure what Seeker wants us to delve and find, but in the exercise, there is reward.
