Seeking Old Friends
Headless now
The friends of my youth
Remain hidden, almost shadowlike
As needs take over and requests arise
They seem to wander a road I know not
Time seems to have distanced them
As they wander either together or alone
But, either way, they are not near me
Headless now
I seek them, but never see them
Standing in the shadows of patience
Just waiting my voice to call out to them
Bringing them back into the light of my life
Where contact brings forth the power
Of what we call friendship
