teeth bared
fierce snarled

claws sharp
deep scarp

maw clenched
fur drenched

eyes aimed
she claimed

mount tensed
head sensed

red heat
conceit

snug haze
new ways

day's gray
like clay

harsh frost
gas cost

weak knees
feet freeze

night walk
knee chock

cow-poke
now broke

brawl play
war sway

rope toy
stop ploy

vast flop
may drop

joy lust
no trust

clay earth
pain birth

tides beat
pale feet

Lasaad, congratulations on your win with this footle that runs the gamut of emotions from grayness to freezing feet. So well done. I felt every line. Blessings and a hug my friend!

A bouquet of terse verse, some little nicks and hits, and a dart or two. "Day gray/like clay" imagery you not only see, but you can touch and even smell--in four syllables. Skillful indeed!

Highly emotive pairs. Skillfully done in Brian's favorite form. No doubt a winner my friend.
